Responsibilities


  • Creation of declarations and specification for pet food.
  • Recipe adjustment and development: considering nutritional requirements as well as the as the requirements of internal and external customers, formulation costs, risk management requirements, producibility. Ensuring quality, incl. palatability, and digestibility.
  • Collaboration on ensuring production at the R&D interface in day-to-day business; optimising dry cat and dry dog food recipes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and quality standards: responsibility for the accuracy of claims, declaration, and specification according to legal requirements as well as industry guidelines (e.g. FEDIAF).
  • Supervision of test productions.
  • Introduction and implementation of cost-saving projects in cooperation with the interfaces.
  • Complaints management: root cause analysis and identification of corrective actions in cooperation with the team/interfaces; complaints processing category animal (3rd level).
  • Assessment of raw material deliveries and produced goods regarding quality in cooperation with QA.
  • R&D Nutrition: participation in (cross-functional) projects, e.g. launch projects, quality projects, cost-saving projects, etc.
  • 3rd level advice dog/cat.
  • Cooperation and conduction in trainings of employees and external partners in NT and abroad.

Expectations

  • Solid knowledge of animal nutrition, ideally with a focus on pet nutrition.
  • Knowledge of or interest in recipe/formulation development.
  • Attention to detail in preparing declarations and specifications. 
  • Willingness to engage with feed legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate with laboratory, production, sales, marketing, and international teams. 
  • Resilience when handling varying requirements and priorities. 
  • Very good English skills at approximately B2 - C1 level.
  • Experience in the pet or pet food industry is desirable, but rare and therefore not mandatory.
