Sustainability Specialist
(part time job - 20 hrs per week)

The Sustainability Management of the food family develops strategies for a responsible sourcing and supply chain. It closely collaborates with Purchasing, Quality Management, and Product Development to create sustainable product solutions. The team assesses and optimizes raw materials, recipes, and processes based on ecological criteria, and strengthens the implementation of shared sustainability goals through partnerships with suppliers. Additionally, it ensures transparent communication—from customer inquiries to sustainability reports aligned with international standards such as CSRD and the EU Taxonomy.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies for the raw material supply chain, focusing on CO emissions, land use, water, and biodiversity.
- Evaluate and optimize raw materials and product formulations from a sustainability perspective.
- Establish and maintain sustainable partnerships with suppliers (e.g. workshops, target agreements).
- Support customer inquiries and create sustainability-related communication materials (e.g. reports, website content, sales materials).
- Contribute to the group-wide sustainability report (CSRD, EU taxonomy, Scope 1–3) and collaborate closely with brand communication.
Expectations
- University degree related to sustainability, agricultural sciences, food technology, ecotrophology, industrial engineering, or similar fields.
- Several years of professional experience in raw material sourcing, supplier development, or product development – ideally with a sustainability focus.
- Familiarity with ESG criteria and carbon/climate footprint methodologies (CCF/PFC).
- Experience in developing or implementing sustainability reports (e.g. according to GRI, DNK, CSRD).
- Strong communication skills, structured working style, and team-oriented mindset – with the ability to make sustainability tangible.
- Good level of English. German is a nice to have.
- Flexibility for onsite work (at least 5 days per month).
